Fight broke out after Senators' forward Chris Neil hit the side of the Sabres' captain, Chris Drury, during a 3-2 Sabres lead in which he also hit the captains' face, leaving blood on the ice. Neil did not receive a penalty for the hit, but soon after, Drury went to the dressing room under his own power with assistance while Sabres rookie Drew Stafford atttempted to take on Neil for the alleged "Cheap Shot."
